Useful Australian Photographic Resources |
Travelling in Oz? Then these are the places I have
found useful for processing, buying film etc. During our Trip May-July
2004 |
Internet Cafes |
Travelling with digital, using internet cafes can
be much cheaper than getting your pictures put onto disk in a photo
lab, but is only for those that are competent with a PC. |
In most places we found an internet cafe with good
machine, a CD burner and a card reader but there are some real dogs
out there too so look around. |
Photographic Shops and Film Processing Labs |
Sydney |
| Fletchers Fotographic Sydney branch on Pitt Street good for C41 processing and good stock of pro film at good prices |
Fotolab Digital
is a few shops down from Fletchers on Pitt Street, good for E6 processing,
2 hour service for under $10. Expensive for film and C41 processing |
Melbourne |
In Melbourne all the camera shops are clustered
around Elizabeth Street in the city centre. |
| Photobee I used these guys for C41 processing, one hour service at reasonable prices, good service, as you'd expect from a Leica dealer |
| Michaels Big camera shop, camera repairs, same day E6 processing (the day I went the machine was being serviced - bummer eh!) |
Brisbane |
| Fotofast C41 one hour
service, not particularly cheap, E6 service available same day if films
in by 10am, collect after 4pm |
Townsville |
| Ayr Camera Centre along Flinders Mall in the town centre, E6 (48hr has to be sent away) |
Cairns |
| Reef Centre on Lake Street 2Hr E6 (Under $10) 1Hr C41, the best prints I've had back yet very clean well balanced colours good service times and not expensive |
